What you will do
· Understand system requirements and architecture in depth.
· Define, develop, and execute advanced test methodologies for validating end-to-end system level functionality and performance (lab & field) across the mobile protocol stack (PHY, MAC/RLC/PDCP, RRC, NAS, Data, TCP-IP/UDP).
· Execute manual and automated testing of wireless systems, including functional and performance testing. Ensure timely execution, test accuracy and repeatability.
· Document test results, test coverage and other KPIs and communicate to all stakeholders regularly.
· Deep-dive into test results and root-cause issues and communicate with the appropriate teams.
· Responsibilities will also include defining Key performance Indicators and conducting modem performance evaluation.
· Design lab setups for various types of tests, including conducted clean channel and fading channel test and field tests. Build racks and other test-rigs as necessary for executing the test plan.
· Automate the test execution including control and configuration of test equipment.
· Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams – hardware, software, mechanical, systems, etc. – in different time-zones to ensure that system requirements will be met during operation.
What you bring to this role
· Master’s degree in electrical engineering, wireless Communication Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
· 7 years of hands-on experience in testing cellular and other communication systems in the industry with a successful product launch history.
· Strong background in communication theory, digital signal processing, and wireless communication systems, especially in the context of satellite systems.
· Solid understanding of 3GPP specifications (LTE & NR Air Interface, PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP and NAS layer) for 5GNR and 4G.
· Knowledge of RF transceiver measurement techniques such as noise figure, gain/power, ACLR, Linearity, phase noise, etc.
· Excellent problem-solving with a from-first-principles approach.
· Proficiency in using test equipment (e.g., power supplies, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, power meters, vector network analyzer).
· Exposure to modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent
· Proficiency in test automation using Python or similar programming language.
· Experience using JIRA and other CRM tools.
· Flexible, responsive, and collaborative with an ability to work at a fast-paced startup environment.
· Strong analytical and communication skills. Teamplayer.
Bonus points for the following
· Experience in NTN, Redcap or NB-IOT.
· Some satellite, aerospace, or related industry experience.
· Strong theoretical background in communication theory.
· Expertise in digital communication theory, including coding and modulation, information theory, and detection and estimation.
