Clinical Data Abstractor

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review medical charts to ensure that data is transcribed from the legacy EHR into the new EHR, including order name, order number, ordering physician, diagnosis code and other relevant information
  • Maintain required timeline for data submission
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current clinical practice guidelines and applies this to case review
  • Ensure that data is stored safely and securely to prevent unauthorized access or loss
  • Maintain patient confidentiality by protecting patient information from unauthorized disclosure
  • Ability to adapt to changing workflow, as required by the project

Client Required Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare preferred, equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
  • A degree/background in nursing is strongly preferred
  • Experience using Epic is required
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a remote setting
  • Proficient in computer skills, including typing, navigating and using various HER systems
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast paced environment
