Position Description Sensors, Test & Calibration is a business unit within the Measurement, Communications & Test Division of AMETEK, Inc. We are currently searching for a technical assembler with 3-5 years of experience to support the manufacture of our Lloyd & Chatillon products/business.

The Electro-Mechanical Assembler is a key member of a team which ensures that material testers are fabricated and perform to the stated product specifications and meet the customer’s expectations for their stated application needs and performance.

Assembler performs diversified mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly or sub-assembly work that is moderately complex. Requires adjusting, fitting, and aligning to ordinary tolerances. Direction provided by verbal instructions or established assembly procedures and drawings. Requires print reading and basic math skills as well as the ability to use common hand tools and operate assembly machines. Work is typically performed at a bench and may include walking or standing.

Position Requirements Creates lay-out and fits and welds fabricated, cast and forged components to assemble manufactured products.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Proven skills set to make timely decisions, solve problems, and handle multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated organizational and follow-through skills
  • Other duties as may be assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school or equivalent; Technical/Trade school or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for eight (8) hours; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate (~75dba).Lifting of tools and calibration equipment will be required to perform the core functions of this position. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • There can be exposure to heat, humidity, oil, dirt, grease, dust, noise, etc. with some exposure to hazards related to working with tools, heavy equipment, and electronic equipment. This will require compliance with safety procedures.
