Ministry Associate - Ministry Operations
POSITION SUMMARY
Through an intentional training process the Ministry Associate will gain leadership skills and spiritual development that will prepare them to step into the role of Pastor. Along with other associates, they will participate in Eagle Brook’s Pastoral Development Program learning the skills and practices of pastoral ministry. In collaboration with their assigned Pastor and campus team, they will help to lead volunteers and attenders to grow in Eagle Brook’s five values: Follow Jesus, Spend Time with God, Connect in Community, Serve Others, and Live Generously. In addition, they will be cross trained in multiple campus ministries. Success in this role is measured by satisfactory completion of the Ministry Associate development process and placement in a pastoral role. Reports to a Pastor at their assigned campus.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads from under the direction of their assigned Pastor
- Invites attenders to use their spiritual gifts to serve God and the Church
- Invests in volunteer Directors and Team Leads, in cooperation with their assigned Pastor, by:
- assisting with onboarding volunteers: scheduling and facilitating training
- shadowing training and development meetings with individuals, groups, and campus gatherings
- directing volunteers to resources: website, curriculum, etc.
- Executes centrally designed ministry strategies
- Participates in pastoral onboarding and training for the purpose of becoming a licensed minister
- Serves as a spiritual influencer and encourager to volunteers and attenders
- Observes various ministries in action, occasionally visiting other campuses
- Works with staff at campus to assist with ministry needs of the campus
- Invests 70% of their time in their assigned ministry and 30% cross training in various ministries
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 3 years) required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 4 years) preferred
- Ministry degree desired, not required
- 1 years of experience working in a team setting as a participant or leader
- 1 years of experience in ministry as a volunteer
- Follower of Jesus and aligns with Eagle Brook’s nine core beliefs
- Demonstrates a Christ-centered life
- Models growing in faith through Eagle Brook’s five values
- Willing to be placed in a variety of ministries and locations
WORK SCHEDULE
Generally, Saturday - Wednesday. Hours include weekend services plus some evening hours for meetings or events. Need to be able to meet when volunteers are available or pastoral care is needed.
