Eagle Brook Church is a multi-site church looking for a highly motivated and organized Purchasing Specialist to join our team at the Operations Center located in Hugo, MN. This person will champion working with Eagle Brook Church employees and vendors to ensure the best fit of products in a cost-effective manner as well as assuming overall responsibility for the purchasing process. A person skilled in communicating with and understanding requestor needs, researching and sourcing products, and developing good vendor relationships will thrive in this role. POSITION SUMMARY
Partners with ministries/departments to source products, supplies, and inventory. Assists in championing purchasing and inventory management instructions, policies, and procedures. Manages vendor relationships and assists in building effective internal and external partnerships. Reports to Purchasing & Distribution Manager.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partners with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
- Assists with bid proposals and negotiation of contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
- Determines method of procurement, including direct purchase, subscription or bid
- Prepares purchase orders or bid requests
- Reviews purchase requests and ensures authorization as necessary to facilitate the timely purchase of product
- Maintains procurement records, including items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories
- Addresses defective or unacceptable goods or services with users, vendors, and others to determine cause and remedy
- Arranges for delivery and/or storage of purchased products
- Assists staff with managing inventory levels of materials and products
- Provides support for print production needs
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 5 years) required
- 3 years of business or purchasing experience
- Follower of Jesus and aligns with Eagle Brook’s nine core beliefs
- Exemplary customer service skills
- Excellent communication and active listening skills
- Proficient at the MS Office suite of products
WORK SCHEDULE
Generally, Monday-Friday at the Operations Center.
Classification: Non-Exempt; Hourly // Status: Full-Time // Team: Finance
