Summary
Position is responsible for all human resources functions for the district including payroll, benefits, compensation and recruiting. Work involves analyzing, researching and responding to complex questions regarding employee pay, benefits and the schools purchasing and accounting transactions. Corresponds as appropriate with administration, board of directors, staff, students, parents, vendors and government representatives.
Essential Functions
- Oversees all recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt personnel.
- Processes payroll for submission to accounting firm.
- Oversees all administration of benefits and insurance programs: open enrollment, answers employee questions, claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness.
- Oversees successful onboarding of new employees; conducts new-employee orientations.
- Establishes and maintains department records and reports.
- Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
- Oversees compensation program. Updates all job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget); analyzes compensation and ensures compliance; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
- Maintains all employee agreements and assignments.
- Develops, recommends and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with all FMLA, ADA, ACA requirements.
- Serves as member of District Leadership team. Serves as key lead on HR Workgroup Board team.
- Administers all aspects of ERA benefits and insurance. Works with insurance broker to negotiate affordable coverage.
- Works strategically with Leadership team to ensure ERA efforts meet the ongoing demands of education and growth.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in a Human Resources or Business related area. Professional Certification preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in Human Resources, including two years of overseeing human resources department.
- Experience in Education field desired but not required.
