The Earth Elements Stone Fabrication Shop is a state-of-the-art digital stone fabrication shop. Serving the Bozeman and Big Sky Area. With 20,000 square feet and multiple digital machines, we are the largest operator in the area. Our Stone Fabrication Shop serves the Design Center. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful applicant to join this fast-growing company. Earth Elements Design Center supplies high-end custom home interior finishes to the building industry. We are a complete one-stop shop with Appliances, Cabinetry, Doors & Door Hardware, Lighting, Slab, Tile, and Wood Flooring.
The Shop Assistant is responsible for operating a forklift to move slabs and remnants, organize and stage slabs, rack completed projects, and update Slabsmith.
Essential Job Functions

- Receive plumbing fixtures from the design center or supplier and disperse as directed to local inventory.
- Receive supply shipments and stock in inventory.
- Follow all procedures for receiving shipments and ensure all documentation is given to the Project Coordinator.
- Move slabs into the shop to be cut, and remove remnants from the shop once completed.
- Rack completed projects that come out of the shop.
- Assist in ensuring that inbound and outbound projects are accurate and free of damage, reporting variances to the floor or Fabrication Manager.
- Assist Installers with loading materials with the forklift and working with the Project Coordinator to ensure all projects are prepared for the next morning to load.
Maintenance
- Ensure that A-frames and splash racks are organized and covered.
- Organize the Installer area.
- Building projects delegated by the fabrication manager (i.e. Propane tank bin, A-frames).
- Completed daily maintenance of the water system and pump maintenance every 45 days.
Additional Duties
- Assist the Fabrication team with cutting rods and rodding.
- Building metal support straps for projects.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a warehouse and shop setting, with outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses equipment such as computers, phones, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters, heavy machinery (i.e. Forklifts), and hand tools such as handheld saws, grinders, measuring devices, levels, etc.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 75 pounds, frequently move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds, and use heavy machinery for equipment up to 1,000 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with additional hours and schedule changes as needed for business purposes.
Travel
Travel is primarily local, up to two hours driving distance during the business day may be expected. Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record, per insurance eligibility requirements. Travel for work will be using a company vehicle.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Valid Drivers’ License and clean driving record, able to meet insurability qualifications
- Experience in a warehouse or shop setting preferred
