What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer position at Earthtone Construction?
Duties and Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to the following):
Undertake general construction labor as required on any site under the direction of the site supervisor- Drives Earthtone delivery vehicles as directed and coordinated through the Shop Manager or Superintendent to pick up or deliver material, debris, etc.
- Abides by all state and federal traffic laws and safety regulations when driving company vehicles
- Selects, purchases, loads and transports building materials in accordance with traffic laws and in a safe and responsible manner
- Performs regular safety checks on vehicles, forklifts, etc.
- Performs basic maintenance and cleaning of vehicles
- Assists shop manager in coordinating tool deliveries, pickup, maintenance and tracking
- Stocks, restocks and organizes the shop materials, building materials and equipment under the supervision/direction of the shop manager
- Attends safety meetings weekly (either at the shop or onsite)
- Attends company training as directed
- Other duties as assigned
Tool Requirements:
Simple tool belt- Hammer
- Cat’s paw
- Utility knife
- Tape measure
Education and/or Experience:
- High school graduation or GED
- 1 year of commercial driving experience desired

- Ability to follow safe driving practices
- Ability to plan and exercise effective organization strategies for routing and prioritizing deliveries and tasks
- Ability to communicate adequately in spoken English

- Ability to use and apply good judgement and common sense
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License with clean driving record
- Basic Spanish.
- Other training and/or certifications desired: First Aid/CPR

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a construction environment. When driving, the employee may operate the vehicle at varying speeds in traffic situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather or in tight areas. The employee is also exposed to outdoor weather conditions and rough or uneven ground and occasionally working in elevated work environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, on job sites, equipment noise can be a much higher level.
