Summary
Responsible for the management of all public and parochial transportation routes with the elementary and secondary schools, parents and other agencies. This position will supervise the drivers, attendants, and chauffeurs assigned to special education routes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Qualifications: College degree with a background in Drivers' Education and experience in driving safety, safety training, public relations, public speaking and vehicle fleet administration. Experience in supervision with some knowledge of computers. Experience may be substituted for degree. Must have a valid driver's license.

Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates all transportation planning with elementary and secondary schools.
- Coordinates assignment of regular education students to routes.
- Coordinates route assignments, schedules, and supervision of all regular route drivers.
- Coordinates and assist in classroom training of regular and substitute drivers, as well as new substitutes.
- Evaluates bus stops for safety and walk distance.
- Conducts road observations, check and resolve various problems as reported by parents, drivers, principals, and the general public.
- Routinely inspect buses to assure safe operating conditions.
- Conducts evaluations of regular and substitute drivers.
- Assists with the safety and in-service meetings for drivers and other Transportation Department employees.
- Assists in resolving school district problems.
- Assists in computerization of regular routes.
- Ensure daily coverage of all routes as required due to driver absences, diver no-shows, bus mechanic problems, etc.
- Coordinates with Civil Defense in regard to emergency problems.
- Other duties or tasks may be assigned on an as needed basis
