We operate a 24 hour, 7 day a week service for our patients, the hours / shifts vary dependent on the location, as part of the role of an ACA there will be a requirement to cover out of hours shifts on a relief rota basis, please contact us for further information on the possible shift patterns for the area that you are applying for.
Job overview
We are looking for self-motivated individuals to support our Patient Transport Service by ensuring vehicle are cleaned and ready for transportation in Hertfordshire covering Watford and occasionally Stevenage area when required.
This is a vital role ensuring that our patients can be transported in vehicles maintained to the highest standard for their safety and comfort.
This role will involve working in all weathers.
Applicants must hold a valid full UK driving licence (max 3 points) C1 Category is desirable

Shifts - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 06 : 00 - 16 : 00 and Sunday 08 : 00 - 18 : 00
Main duties of the job
- Performs cleaning duties to promote and maintain a clean and infection-free patient treatment environment to mitigate the potential transmission of Healthcare Associated Infections
- Maintains vehicle, estate and facility cleanliness which meets the Trusts audit criterion for Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) in accordance with the Vehicle Cleaning Manual
- Prepares resources to meet strict time deadlines and any other operational requirement
- Contributes to effective communications with operational staff and other disciplines within the depot and its defined catchment area.

Full UK driving licence including Max 3 points
Desirable criteria
C1 Category Driving Licence
You are required to hold a full UK manual driving licence with 1 year driving experience (a maximum of 3 penalty points for minor motoring offences will be considered).
Please note : During the 3 week training course it is your responsibility to attend in full, on each day. Accommodation and travel expenses will not be provided so you will need to consider the costs and travel expense of attending these venues.
Training is held at either Welwyn Garden City (Hertfordshire) or Barton Mills (Suffolk), or another designated venue.
As a Healthcare worker you will be subject to Immunisations which will be checked through Occupational Health and boosters provided as required.
