Energy Services Manager

Join our team at East River Electric Power Cooperative! Are you an innovative professional looking to make an impact? We are seeking an Energy Services Manager to direct the planning, implementation, and management of our energy services programs. In this role you will collaborate with cross-functional groups to identify and put into action energy efficiency and electrification programs, analyze load management/demand response data, evaluate and implement smart grid technology plans, assist consumers and member cooperatives with energy expertise, educate members and consumers about distributed generation, electric vehicles and other energy services, and develop the annual rebate and energy efficiency programs. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex energy concepts to both internal and external audiences.

At East River Electric Power Cooperative we're dedicated to providing reliable and affordable wholesale power to our members across 40,000 square miles of service area. As a not-for-profit generation and transmission cooperative, we provide electricity to 24 rural electric distribution cooperatives and one municipally owned electric system serving eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. Our members, in turn, power the lives of the member-owners in their service territories.

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of energy programs and services.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Committee to identify and carry out strategies for our energy efficiency programs.
  • Analyze and present load management data to make data-driven decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date with trends, regulations, and programs related to demand response, renewable energy, electric vehicles, and energy efficiency.
  • Be our in-house subject matter expert for electric vehicles, connected devices, and heat pump technology.
  • Establish and foster strong collaborative relationships with our member systems, their key/large customers, and other entities to provide energy expertise.

Showcase Your Knowledge, Abilities, and Expertise. Do you have?

  • Strong knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies and practices
  • An associate degree in HVAC, electrical, or equivalent technical program
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred)
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and computer software
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
