Branch Supervisor - Phlebotomy

East Side Clinical Laboratory, a leader in the medical laboratory industry, is seeking a Branch Supervisor to join our Phlebotomy Team because we are growing!

Schedule / Hours:  This position is a Salaried Position, Monday through Friday, generally an 8:30 am to 5:00 pm office hours.  However, those hours are administrative and for when the position requires you to be in the office, this position is one that requires flexibility as there is travel in RI, but also may be travel within Eastern CT involved as well.

Duties / Responsibilities: 

• Oversees the assigned branch locations including, but not limited to, payroll, staffing needs, annual employee reviews, and other function as assigned. *
• Monitor daily operations of assigned branches in accordance with company policies. *
• Supervises and participates in the more complex blood drawing procedures to include venipuncture and heel and finger sticks. Supervise and demonstrate the proper use of collection equipment including finger stick apparatus and butterfly needles.
• Reviews monthly error reports and forwards to employees. Develops plans of corrective action, updates Branch Manager, and confers with employee. Evaluates need for additional training if applicable.
• Prepares work schedules as assigned.
• Visits branch locations regularly, observes critical work operations of all categories, obtains first hand observations, and enforces compliance with ESCL standardized procedures and techniques.
• Works at branch locations as required assuring that sites are operational.
• Participates actively in training of new employees in standardized techniques and assures continuation of staff competency. *
• Reports Branch safety or physical plant problems to ESCL Safety officer and Branch Manager.
• Required to work a Saturday rotation as specified by the company.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:   Phlebotomy experience required.  Knowledge of phlebotomy standards and prior supervisory experience of at least 5 years required.  Demonstrated leadership ability, excellent communication and customer service skills.  Must possess an excellent understanding of East Side Clinical Laboratory policies.   Registration as a phlebotomist by the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCA), American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), or other entity deemed equivalent.  Bachelor's Degree preferred.
