What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Specialist position at Easter Seals Florida, Inc?
Salary will be between $16.89 to $17.00 per hour (and based on experience)
Part-time position working 15 hours per week
We are seeking a dynamic, dedicated and collaborative individual to serve as the organization's Transportation Specialist. The Transportation Specialist is responsible for performing specialized administrative tasks and act as the company liaison in support of our statewide transportation department as well as with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This qualified candidate will primarily work from home, however, must be located near our Naples or Palm Bay locations. Periodic travel to other Easterseals Florida locations will be required. Good writing and computer skills are required.
A snapshot of what you will be doing:
- Perform transportation grant writing, writing grant proposals and compiling grant application packets (to include budgets, statements of need, description of proposed transportation project with goals and objectives)
- Oversee and ensure compliance with transportation agencies and FDOT contracts/grant awards, regulations, requirements and deliverables
- Complete all required reporting for grants and local, state and federal agencies
- Continually seek additional transportation revenue
- Work with transportation teams on all compliance requirements including training, paperwork, maintenance and safety
- Track fleet and estimate vehicle lifespan
- Coordinate renewal of registration and tags for statewide fleet
- Assist in tracking and monitoring budget
- Conduct self-audits and lead all transportation review and audits
- Assist in tracking and scheduling vehicle service, inspections and repairs, including communicating with repair shops and vendors
- Monthly data input and electronic records

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and one-year related experience; or
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two years related experience; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Significant attention to detail, superior organizational and writing skills and the ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and database software
- Detail-oriented self-starter who can efficiently handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle, as required, to drive to meetings and for other business-related needs (minimum age of 21 and good driving history)
