Office Manager
Eastern Illinois University is seeking candidates for a full-time Civil Service position of Office Manager for the Office of Inclusion and Academic Engagement. . The office provides personal support, information, scholarships and internships, general information on campus life and social activities, oversees the Peer Helper Program, Minority Internship Program, TRIO Grant, Gateway applications, African American Cultural Center, Gregg Technology Center, African American Heritage Month, Latino Heritage Month, Asian American Heritage Month, Minority Recognition Graduate Reception, and Black Student Reunion. Duties may include:
- Managing budgets for multiple accounts.
- Maintain a calendar of appointments and meetings.
- Maintain statistics on academics, retention and other criteria.
- Maintain information on minority students who visit campus or attend Minority Leadership Camp.
- Respond to inquires concerning office policies and projects.
- Handle arrangements for special events.
- Prepare and distribute surveys; compile survey date and summarize results.
Qualified candidates must be a high school graduate or equivalent and have 24 months of clerical/office support work experience comparable to that performed at the Office Support Specialist level of this series or in other positions of comparable responsibility.
The Civil Service examination for this classification is a credentials assessment. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from qualified applicants.
