Job Posting for BUSINESS OFFICE SCHEDULER PATIENT COORDINATOR at Eastern Iowa Endodontics

A career opportunity that’s ……bound to make you smile.

Eastern Iowa Endodontics, the private dental practice of Dr. Derek Peek and staff are seeking a Patient Care Coordinator/Scheduler to join our highly reputable, dynamic and rapidly growing practice. This is a full-time permanent position that, simply stated, “works in partnership with our lead administrator to manage the non-clinical tasks of providing awesome patient care.”

Our 6-member group (and, soon expanding as we add another doctor) produces 5-star service by valuing quality communication and golden-rule performance in all we do. If you enjoy the idea of making a patient’s day unexpectedly sweeter, value teamwork and communication, with the satisfaction of contributing to quality control in a patient-centered, close-knit group work environment… then, this post may be describing your ideal workstyle within the mission-driven world of Eastern Iowa Endodontics where we believe: “Root Canals are GOOD!”

After learning the specifics of our industry, you’ll collaboratively work with your team members to:

· Answer the phone, address questions, and direct calls.

· Create meaningful relationships with local general dental practices. Discover the satisfaction you’ll feel after collaborating with the referring office’s staff to make a positive and unexpectedly pleasant experience for the patient needing prompt help!

· Schedule: Craft a busy and well-scheduled day for our clinical team. If you enjoy putting a puzzle together, you’ll enjoy our scheduling system!

· “Check-in” patients; dish out warm, genuine hospitality while gaining registration information, health and insurance information, and notifying the clinical team of the patient’s arrival.

· Onboard new patients, sharing first visit information and providing information to turn an ordinary call into an extraordinarily positive patient experience.

· Post payments to the patient’s account and answer payment related questions.

· Enjoy periodic marketing projects, with fellow staff members, to show our appreciation to the practices that support our mission.

If you are seeking a position that is always busy, organized, and systematic with unexpected events sprinkled throughout the week to challenge you to think and prioritize, you’ll learn why those who discover dental administration in our specialized area of care, enjoy long-term, stable careers. Our field is highly rewarding if you enjoy people and supporting a large variety of business functions.

Do you need prior dental experience to apply? Absolutely NOT! Of course, candidates with dental experience are to apply. However, the majority of our staff had no prior dental experience prior to joining Dr. Peek’s office. Why? Because we also highly value, in our team members, those qualities, traits, and characteristics that are not taught in dental technical training programs. Placing those qualities first makes training in “dental/endodontics” a successful and rewarding endeavor.

Education coupled with similar task experiences is an excellent foundation to learn the technical aspects of endo administration. If you have a passion to serve others and enjoy helping patients turn a frown upside down, you’ll catch onto our software, processes, terminology and understanding of endodontic procedures so fast… you’ll smile, too.

Are you qualified to apply? We value these top 10:

1. Industrious work attitude that appreciates our awesome schedule so you can gain your “full 40” while being off every day by 4:15 (and, Friday by 1:30)! No evenings! No weekends! Our schedule is designed for go-getters who also appreciate life balance.

2. Stable work history.

3. Strong keyboarding and computer skills. We are a modern, tech-driven practice that values being progressive and efficient.

4. Customer service mindset that easily extends warmth and genuine hospitality.

5. Solid business administrative work experience that demonstrates strong ability to multi-task. Candidates with work histories in insurance, paralegal, medical front desk/registration, education, and banking often “re-tool” well into our rewarding field of work.

6. Excellent verifiable references.

7. Communication skills! Comfortable leading patients into appointment times that help us to help them and asking for money when payment is due.

8. Do your friends characterize you as “someone who considers the needs of others”, “calm in a storm”, “strong appreciation for others” and not quick to let someone who may be having a bad moment “get under your skin”? Did you just say “yes”?… well, enjoy co-workers who share your same attitude and values! Keep reading!

9. Strong organizational skills, appreciation for SOPs to support team member communication and follow through, and so uninclined to drop the ball that we’d wonder if you have Velcro on your fingertips! (Did you laugh? We appreciate a sense of humor, too!)

10. Initiative. Near unbridled curiosity and passion for your work prompting your eagerness to study your notes, employ your new skills, and drive your success!

Rewarding compensation with a most ideal work schedule!

Accompanying the rewarding wage and life-balanced work schedule benefits include excellent medical insurance, 401K with employer match, professional attire, bonuses and… while serious about our work, we also like to have FUN!
