We are currently seeking a Speech Language Assistant to assist the Speech Language Pathologist with providing therapy to children with a variety of disabilities.
Responsibilities will include assisting the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) with speech/language and hearing screenings without making interpretations, performing speech therapy as directed by the SLP and documenting the child’s performance and reporting data to the supervising SLP.
This is a full-time position.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in communication disorders or related field (Special Education, Psychology, etc) or
Three years experience as a Teacher Assistant, SLA, or related experience
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Essential Responsibilities:
NOTE: All duties are to be implemented as prescribed, directed and supervised by a New Hampshire licensed SLP. Documented supervision will consist of no less than 10% of direct time per week (on-site, in view) and 5% indirect time per week.
Assist the Speech/language pathologist with speech/language and hearing screenings without making interpretations.
Perform speech therapy as directed by Individual Education Plans or Individualized Family Support Plans developed by a licensed SLP.
Document client performance (charts, records, graphs) and report data to the supervising SLP to track client progress and quality improvement.
Assist SLP with clerical duties (preparing therapy materials, scheduling activities etc.).
Assist with departmental operations such as maintaining supplies and equipment and a safe work area.
Attend parent meetings with a Licensed SLP.
Assist the SLP with in service training and a public relations program.
Participate in staff development, attend meetings, and attend in-services as scheduled.
This may involve work at multiple sites. Work for Family Centered Early Supports and Services does include home visits.
