We are looking for our Dynamic Team Individual who has an HR Generalist background and a fire to drive successful HR processes, and can collaborate with our employees, managers and from time to time, our customer.
HUMAN RESOURCE GENERALIST POSITION SUMMARY
Conduct the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including but not limited to benefit administration, compensation, reporting/compliance, data entry, and training.
POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Benefits:
- Accurately enroll employees in benefits using HRIS.
- Includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, STD, and 401(K) coverage.
- Assist with new hire questions and enrollments.
- Facilitate new hire education and training on benefit options.
- Schedule and conduct new-hire benefit enrollment.
- Confirm vendors have updated employee eligibility information.
- Distribute required compliance materials for benefit plans.
- Audit benefit coverage throughout the year.
- Assist with open enrollment periods.
- Lead annual open enrollment process.
- Administer and process leave of absence requests for FMLA and STD.
- Ensure return-to-work clearance when applicable.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements pertaining to benefits
- Strong ability to multitask and remain calm in emergencies
- Conflict resolution skills
- Ability to display integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
- Strong knowledge of laws and regulations.
- Proficient in HRIS and carrier portals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Compensation:
- Backup person to Finance Department to conduct bi-weekly payroll.
- Add pay adjustments and other applicable changes (e.g., garnishments) in HRIS system.
- Other duties as assigned.
Recruitment:
- Coordinate onboarding process and facilitate background check procedure.
- Create new-hire onboarding programs specific to benefits and streamlining HRIS system(s).
- Enter new-hire information into the HRIS system.
- Facilitate new-hire benefit training and education.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and training:
- Verify that mandatory training and continuing education is complete and documented including safety training, code of conduct and handbook training, anti-harassment training and certifications.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, changes to regulations, new technology breakthroughs in HR, talent, and employment law.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field preferred. Education and experience can be substituted for degree.
- SHRM-CP, SCP or PHR, SPHR preferred.
Experience:
- 2 -3 years of experience in Human Resources with a primary focus on benefits administration, training and new hire orientation.
- 3 years of experience fluently utilizing Microsoft Office Suite tools including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word,PowerPoint and Excel.
- Prefer experience in UKG HRIS system, but not required.
SCHEDULE
Salaried Exempt - Monday through Friday
Approximately 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. – average of around 45-50 hour work week.
