Eat the 80 is a premium, healthy, delicious meal preparation and delivery service operating in Gainesville, Florida. We create and deliver thousands of Chef-prepared meals monthly for personal delivery to local customers and via FedEx shipments to our customers across the continental United States. Due to our phenomenal growth over 2020, we are looking for professional and dependable individuals to join our team.
Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced, creative, and passionate Head Chef to join our team. As Head Chef, you will manage the daily operations of the kitchen, oversee the kitchen staff to ensure that our food maintains the highest quality, create at least one new menu item per week, keep track of kitchen inventory, and ensure that all meals have been prepared on time to stay on our weekly shipping schedule.
Responsibilities
- Direct kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and cleanup.
- Ordering Inventory
- Assign tasks; supervise chefs and cooks in the preparation and presentation of food.
- Ensuring all of our meals are properly plated and sealed
- Maintain control of the kitchen to ensure all tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure all kitchen staff adheres to food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a clean and sanitary kitchen.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Owner to align kitchen operations with the overarching goals of the establishment
- Train chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff.
- Maintain kitchen equipment; schedule repairs and additional maintenance as needed.
- Create and develop weekly menu items approved by our Dietitian and Whole30 compliant.
- Conduct inventory and kitchen organization, including creating preparation lists and cleaning procedures.
- Direct kitchen employees in cooking, preparation, meal presentation, portion and cost control, and sanitation and cleanliness.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.

- Proven experience as Head Chef
- Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
- Ability to divide responsibilities and monitor progress
- Outstanding communication and leadership skills
