What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Specialist position at Eatn Park Hospitality Group?
The Accounting Specialist works closely with the Accounting Team to assist in daily, monthly, and annual rhythms such as maintaining accurate and complete financial records, using documents to verify, record, and process transactions, and analyzing financial information. This role impacts data analytics across the organization and is expected to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
Job Responsibilities:
- Function as front-line support for the field on gathering cash slips, invoices, etc.
- Monitor for errors and QA checks
- Escalate to supervisor if concerned with fraud
- Process minor journal entries or reclassifications
- Create & submit invoices to accounts/vendors in an accurate and timely manner
- Resolve discrepancies, maintain vendor records, and prepare outgoing payments
- Research discrepancies and past-due amounts
- Identify delinquent accounts and follow up for payment
- Respond to vendor statements, inquiries, and remittance requests
- Download and process invoices
- Assist with the monthly close and accrual process
- Track and follow up with internal team members on invoice issues to ensure resolution
- Work cooperatively and collaboratively with internal colleagues and external vendors
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and tasks as needed
- Assist in creating other accounting journal entries as assigned
- Assist in performing other general accounting tasks such as account reconciliations, etc. as assigned
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- 3 years of general accounting support/bookkeeping work experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred
- Strong computer literacy including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft applications as well as other accounting software programs or the ability to learn new systems and tools
- Ability to work independently & interact professionally with customers & upper management
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to think critically and problem solve
