Eaton’s ES CRDS COMM Commercial division is currently seeking an EHS Manager. This position is located at our Hodges, SC facility. Relocation assistance will be provided.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $101250.0 - $148500.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:
The primary function of the Environmental Health & Safety Manager is to provide Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Sustainability leadership for the Hodges Busway plant. This requires a proactive approach to development and maintenance of processes to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State and Local laws as well as Eaton’s EHS Management System (MESH), including ISO 14001 requirements. This position will be responsible for identifying and leading EHS activities, assuring accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics, managing interfaces with governmental authorities and external parties and providing technical and tactical support to plant leadership to ensure the plant is operated in a safe, healthy, secure, and environmentally sustainable manner.
- Create and deploy a strategy to achieve the Hodges Busway EHS and Sustainability goals. Establish and share ownership and accountability to achieve goals with the EHS and Leadership Team.
- Facilitate evaluation and implementation of fiscally and socially responsible methods and processes of reducing operational environmental footprint by managing natural resources and waste.
- Build organization capability by providing EHS mentorship, training, and development of EHS team, MESH Champions and Hodges Extended Leadership Team to ensure compliance with MESH and Regulatory requirements.
- Support and participate on Continuous Improvement Activities such as: Kaizens, Ideas Programs, Cost Out to incorporate EHS initiatives to drive improvements in results year over year.
- Continuously identify, assess, and reduce Environmental Health & Safety risks through the development and deployment of management systems for incident investigation, corrective/preventive action, management of change.
- Interface with governmental authorities on matters of mutual concern including maintenance of environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data.
- Comply with Eaton’s ethics policy and keep management informed of any issues associated with regulatory compliance, safety incidents and security concerns.
- Develop EHS training plan and associated content. Ensure employee compliance with training requirements and maintenance of training documentation.
- Drive broad levels employee engagement in MESH activities to achieve a zero-incident safety culture through leadership, programs, communication, engagement, and employee committees.
- Initiate opportunities to improve environmental conditions in the community as well as foster employee wellness and off-the-job safety.
- Integrate and support Corporate EHS initiatives designed to drive best practices across Eaton into the Hodges Busway plant.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years of Environmental Health and Safety experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Company sponsorship is not offered. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental discipline from an accredited institution
- Environmental Health and Safety certification preferred such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc
- Experience in developing and delivering training in environmental, health and safety.
- Experience with regulatory compliance concerning environmental, health, safety or security matters.
- Experienced dealing with local, state, and federal agencies in relation to EHS.
- Experience driving/leading culture change in an EHS environment.
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal skills for internal and external communications.
- Computer skills and such applications as Microsoft Windows, PowerBI, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and be able to compile reports.
- Provide technical instructions and general instructions to all levels of the organizations to adhere to MESH expectations and drive facility projects and contracts impacting product operations.
- Focus on cost containment and high levels of trust managing EHS costs and maintaining financial integrity.
- Must be available to alleviate any safety related problem or concern that an employee may feel needs attention.
- Required to act as the contact person dealing with outside agencies concerning any facility safety, health and environmental issues.
