Eaton’s Crouse Hinds, B-Line, Oil & Gas team is currently seeking an HR Assistant to join our team. This position is based at our Syracuse, NY facility.
Position Overview:
This position will provide direct support to the Syracuse, NY facility, employees, executive leadership and HR function through a variety of clerical and administrative tasks. This position reports to the Director HR – Global Functions.

Essential Functions:
- Partner with the onsite security team to provide front-line customer service as the site receptionist (welcome/direct visitors, answer phones, provide direction on mail distribution and site deliveries, maintain the reception/coffee area, etc.).
- Serve as a liaison for employees and managers (answer/direct inquiries, create/deactivate badges, order name plates, log/distribute parking stickers etc.).
- Partner with facilities and administrative assistants to drive 5S activities within the office environment (turning around cubes, IT assets, etc.).
- Partner with HR team to transition administrative tasks to HR services, such as interview coordination.
- Assist with HR activities such as orientation (prepare pre-employment items), time and attendance audits, payroll (submit SPRs to HRS), employee communications, compliance related postings, and maintenance of onsite employee personnel files.
- Partner with third party administrators and vendors (property management, office services, cafeteria services, wellness services, print services, art maintenance, safety services, transportation services). Ensure performance and compliance with contract agreements are held and develop action plans when issues are identified.
- Perform a wide variety of clerical tasks (order supplies, file documents, manage events, maintain phone directory list, etc.).
- Collaborate with administrative assistants and HR on site engagement activities and coordination.
- Assists with EHS activities such as maintaining records for safety shoes, glasses, and other reimbursements. Replacing employee safety glasses dust dams and nose pieces, dispensing/organizing PPE (vests, shoe covers, glasses, earplugs)

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a human resources or office services capacity
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- No relocation benefit will be provided. All candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of Syracuse, NY to be considered.
