What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Facilities Technician position at Eaton?
Eaton’s Industrial Controls Division (ICD) has an opening for a Master Facilities Technician, located in Menomonee Falls, WI. This position will reside in the divisional headquarters building, which houses engineering for multiple product lines as well as marketing, sales, finance, and R&D. The facility was built in 2012 and boasts an open office layout surrounded by large windows, as well as 50,000 square feet of onsite state-of-the-art laboratory space, fitness center, a basketball court, ping-pong, employee lounge, and grill & patio. With eight Eaton facilities and more than 1600 employees located in Southeastern Wisconsin, Eaton’s local footprint enables our employees with state of the art laboratories and access to manufacturing, all while providing ample opportunities for development and career growth within region.
Position Overview:
The Master Facilities Technician will lead the day-to-day requests and preventative maintenance needs of the building and grounds associated with the Menomonee Falls facility. The candidate will work with other team members as well as contracted services to maintain the facility as a showplace for employees and visitors
Essential Functions:
- Schedule, prioritize, and lead the fulfillment of day-to-day facility work requests including but not limited to:
- Cubicle, office, and conference room repairs and reconfiguration
- Moving lab and office equipment
- Constructing, moving, and mounting of equipment
- Rigging of large equipment including coordinating the shipping and receiving with outside services
- Repairing or calling services to fix restroom fixtures, coffee machines, audio/video equipment, office furniture, damaged items outdoors or in the parking lot, etc.
- Lead the creation of, updates to, and ensure the execution of a preventative maintenance schedule
- Serve as the primary contact for all contracted building and grounds repair and maintenance services including but not limited to:
- Soliciting and negotiating quotes
- Working with the Sr. Buyer to ensure all EHS contractor requirements are met before work begins
- Working with the Sr. Buyer to issue purchase orders or pay by credit card as appropriate
- Guiding the contractors while onsite to ensure compliance with Eaton safety requirements
- In case of facility emergency, provide on-call coverage when called upon based on facility need. (ex. damage to property such as broken window, water leakage, system alarms, power loss, etc.)
- Be available for scheduled weekend support (Saturday quarterly HVAC filter changes, etc.)
- Serve as primary interface for onsite high-density storage as well as offsite long term storage
- Support shipping and receiving (chain of custody, receiving, delivery and processing of packages and freight)
- Champion MESH (EHS) Categories as assigned

Qualifications
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• High School degree or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s or technical degree.
- Basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge.
Position Criteria:
- Good mechanical skills and knowledge (experience with hand tools, forklifts, rigging equipment, ability to make basic repairs of mechanical equipment)
- Good communication and negotiating skills for contracted services
- Ability to proficiently read blueprints and schematics
- Ability to accurately troubleshoot equipment and facility issues
- Knowledgeable of safety standards.
