Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a VAVE Engineering Manager. This role can be located at our site in either Moon Township, PA or Peachtree City, GA. Relocation offered to those currently residing in the U.S. Hybrid work schedule of three days in office / 2 days remote offered.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $120075.03 - $176110.04 a year.

What you’ll do:
Our VAVE Engineering Manager leads a global team to deliver projects that result in optimized product design, manufacturing processes, and cost structures to enhance overall value. This role will identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency enhancement throughout the product lifecycle. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will lead initiatives to implement value engineering principles, ensuring that our products meet or exceed customer expectations while maximizing profitability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Value Engineering Initiatives: As the VAVE owner, lead value engineering ideation events and projects across all divisional sites and strategic suppliers applying systematic methodologies to enhance product value and reduce costs to meet YoY savings objectives.
- Product Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses of existing products, identifying areas for improvement in design, materials, and manufacturing processes. Development and ownership of Tech Roadmap for VAVE – blended with NPI Tech Roadmap
- Cost Optimization: Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and procurement teams to implement cost-effective solutions without compromising product quality or performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and quality to integrate value engineering principles into all aspects of the product development process.
- Resource Planning: utilize Pro-PM and waterline process to ensure project prioritization and resource allocation alignment.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks associated with proposed changes and develop mitigation plans to ensure a smooth implementation of value engineering initiatives.
- Benchmarking: Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices to benchmark our products against competitors and market leaders.
- Standardization: identifies or defines best practices within engineering and documents, trains and deploys these
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of value engineering projects, including cost savings achieved, design changes implemented, and overall impact on product performance.
- Mentoring: Development and mentoring of VAVE engineering team on project work including ProLaunch
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
- Seven (7) years’ experience of progressively increasing engineering responsibility including project management
- Three (3) years’ experience engineering management in a leadership role.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and within the future
Preferred Requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university
- Experience working in a global organization.
- Experience working with remote engineering teams.
- DFSS certification, training or working experience with tools.
Skills:
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Develop and track effective engineering metrics to drive projects to successful completion.
- Works closely with manufacturing locations to coordinate successful product launches while meeting project schedules.
- Partner with remote engineering teams to accelerate engineering development
- Strong business acumen and financial analysis experience
- Ability to create innovative solutions which bring value to our customers and to instill a work environment which fosters a culture of creative thinking, teamwork, and empowerment.
- Natural inclination to lead by example, be inquisitive in understanding details and underlying concepts, and ability to connect customer needs with design requirements and manufacturing processes for cost-effective solutions.
- Ability to document, plan, execute, manage and control programs and technical resources.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
