What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Project Technician position at eBryIT Inc?
Position Summary:
Under direct supervision, this position provides extensive customer service support for an assigned region involving interaction with Service and Logistics Department staff, client companies, and management; to use knowledge of equipment operation to make independent decisions concerning repair, maintenance, and installation of computers, peripheral equipment, and word processing systems. This position is safety sensitive because the incumbent performs services inside customer locations, and security sensitive because the incumbent will be entrusted with valuable inventory while deploying equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides customer service support for assigned region by communicating well with customers; responding to customer calls in a timely manner; and understanding customer needs and expectations. (50%)
- Manages assigned territory by utilizing time for maximum productivity; keeping dispatch informed of call status; closing calls in a timely and accurate manner; coordinating with customer and eBryIT management while resolving trouble calls taking longer than usual; and performing preventive maintenance of equipment on a scheduled basis. (20%)
- Preps equipment for deployment which can include imaging and boxing equipment for shipment. (10%)
- Manages inventory by accounting for parts usage and returns; uses good business judgment in parts ordering to optimize resources and costs; repairs problem areas down to smallest component(s) when possible; returns bad parts in a timely manner; and involves management in situations not meeting customers? needs. (10%)
- Manages administrative paperwork by submitting completed and accurate expense reports, time cards, field service reports, time off requests, purchase order requests, etc. by required deadline. (10%)
- Displays a consistently positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous and professional attitude as an essential function of this position. (100%)
