Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking to hire a full-time experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our amazing team. We are a full-service hospital including urgent care and emergency medicine.

We see a wide variety of cases from scheduled to walk-in appointments, and emergencies which has caused us to become a fast-paced environment.

As an Assistant the successful candidate's primary role will be to assist the Veterinarian. To do so the candidate need to be able to do the following:

• Assess and triage which patients need to be seen first.
• Take a patient's weight and other vital signs.
• Rooming patients
• Provide safe and proper patient restraint during examinations and procedures.
• Prepare instruments and medications.
• Stock areas and clean kennels and public areas throughout the evening.
• Clean surgical laundry, instruments, and prepare surgical packs as needed.
• Clean, fold, and stock kennel laundry throughout the evening.
• Answer the phones
• Typing the chart notes
• Draw blood and prepare diagnostics
• Perform treatments that patients need
• Client education
• Other duties as assigned

This is a "hands on" position that requires the successful candidate to have the ability to multitask, be efficient in a busy and noisy environment, communicate well with others and be flexible as well as willing to learn new tasks.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday with the occasional Saturday

Several shifts need to be filled.
