Veterinary Assistant

The Veterinary Hospital, located in Eugene, Oregon, is looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our team!

This is a flexible, full-time or part-time position with availability currently needed Wednesday through Friday.

Who we are looking for:

• Our ideal candidate would have some animal-related experience; however, we’re also open to training individuals who love animals and have great customer service skills
• Must be comfortable around both dogs and cats
• Takes pride in being punctual, dependable, and reliable
• Self-starters who take initiative and pay close attention to detail
• Compassionate team players who have excellent communication skills
• Excellent computer/technology skills (we’re paperless!)

Some of the responsibilities for this role:

• Client communication and education
• Welcoming and discharging patients
• Financial transactions
• Patient handling and restraint
• Administering vaccines and medications
• Blood draws and IV catheter placement
• Anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance
• Outpatient procedures
• Pharmacy and laboratory duties
• Hospital cleaning
• Boarding and kennel duties
