Registered Nurse

We are currently seeking a Clinical Research Nurse to join our Sun City Research team. The Clinical Research Nurse will work with the Principal Investigator, human subjects, IRB, and pharmaceutical company to ensure smooth, accurate progress of clinical trials from the planning stage through trial completion and post-study closure. The research nurse will perform protocol-required nursing care, assessments, and tests during study visits.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Obtain informed consent
• Explain study procedures
• Conduct patient interviews (collect medical history and document medications)
• EKGs, Phlebotomy (blood draws), and vital signs
• Manage laboratory procedures (i.e., draw blood samples, process & ship samples).
• Schedule subject visits and coordinate physicians/other staff availability.
• Manage study related essential sponsor/regulatory documents (including but not limited to informed consent forms, source documentation, and investigational product accountability forms)
• Schedule and facilitate sponsor monitoring visits and audits
• Meet and maintain study timelines
• Maintain protocol compliance
• Maintain effective and ongoing communication with the PI, sponsor, and research participants during the course of the study. Collect data as required by the protocol and complete case report forms

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of IRB procedures and submission processes.
• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to accurately and consistently document information.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team as well as work independently.
• Ability to provide clear and consistent communication both verbal and written.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, local and institutional regulations that govern clinical research.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage several competing activities simultaneously.
• Ability to interact with patients, family members, physicians, and outside sponsor personnel in a professional manner.

License or Certification

Licensed: Registered Nurse

Experience:

Clinical research experience is preferred but not required
