Landmarc Support Services is currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative at Westdown Camp, Salisbury, Wiltshire. As the Training Area Operative, you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract. We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training Estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn, Landmarc will provide full training for the successful applicant. This role is on a shift Basis. It is outside core hours but full explanation of the roster will be given at interview. Hours of work
National Security Vetting may be required however you will be informed of this requirement during completion of the Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Candidates must meet the UK residency requirements to undergo the above (5 years minimum). Must hold a Full Manual Valid UK driving licence (essential) What you know: Knowledge of H&S such as COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
Knowledge of working in a rural environment.
Knowledge of range assignment instructions and range standing orders.
Experience of track and fencing maintenance.
Experience as a range/ training area user.
Experience of communicating with customers.What you can do: Map Reading
4x4 LANTRA Off-road
Good familiarity with computer and radio systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to lone work
Comfortable in operating 4x4s
Comfortable working in harsh environmental conditions
Work as a team. Collaborate with other services.
Appreciation and understanding of the rural environment including archaeological and environmental awareness
Work un-sociable hours, sometimes in night conditions
Commitment to the role and keen to learn new skills and develop

Main ResponsibilitiesPreparing training areas for use Monitoring fly tipping, illegal activity and vandalism Preventative maintenance Grounds maintenance Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment Equipment testing Driving and operating fleet vehicles Report unauthorised persons on the Training Area Estate. Direct and advise wider training estate users including the general public. To complete all relevant documentation utilising both IT and paper based systems.
