Leads the 1st shift Winston-Salem team in daily warehouse activities, establishing safety as the #1 priority. Is able to clearly articulate shift goals and communicate overall warehouse goals with team. Understands key metrics and is conversant in discussing and explaining these key metrics.
What You Will Do:
Responsible for all Wave Planning activities including but not limited to:
- Reviews upcoming work
- Sets work into obtainable work groups
- Assigns and monitors the work of various warehouse personnel
- Completes the waves in warehouse management system
- Releases orders based on pick-up time/date, order size, type, and complexity
- Updates the wave and loading dashboard
- Ensures communication to pickers and replenishers so operators understand what queue they are working in
- Ensures loads are completed by pick-up time and reprioritizes work orders to facilitate this
- Ensures a balance of work between work queues
Provides skilled instruction and feedback to team members. Resolves personnel issues at the floor level where possible. Is knowledgeable of Warehouse Rules and Policies and plays a key role in upholding compliance with rules and policies. Can operate all equipment in the department as needed to maintain service, including providing breaks to personnel, as needed.Locates sources of problems by observing flow in operation; listening for problems; working with staff to resolve issues.
Position Details:
- Plant location: Winston Salem, NC
- 1st Shift 6am-2pm (Mon-Fri) OT, as needed (arrive early/stay over) Saturdays, as needed
- Compensation package offered: $22 / Hour
- Sign On Bonus: $1,500
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 3 years of previous plant or warehouse experience
- Previous forklift operating experience
- Must have SAP experience
- No immigration sponsorship offered for this role
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in RF Scanning Warehouse Technology
- Must be capable of working overtime as necessary
