POSITION SUMMARY
Work with North Carolina companies to achieve the goal of increasing exports, focusing on the Defense and Aerospace industries and smaller industries assigned by the Director. Duties include, but are not limited to, daily client contact, direct export assistance, managing international trade promotion projects, creating strategic alliances with North Carolina industrial organizations, organizing and recruiting for international trade promotion events (trade shows, trade missions, etc.), increasing awareness of the importance of international trade resources and providing referrals to other trade resources. Other duties include counseling clients on export best practices, operations and financing.

The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) is focused on recruiting new businesses to the state, supporting the needs of existing businesses, connecting exporters to global customers, helping small business owners get their start, and attracting tourists and visitors from all over the world.
Requirements
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- Assist NC companies in development of strategic export plans;
- Organize and attend trade missions, Domestic and International Trade Shows;
- Recruit North Carolina companies to attend trade shows and trade missions;
- Direct, develop and provide content for export education programs;
- Work with other organizations focused on increasing NC exports, such as the US Commercial Service, SBA, SBTDC, ExIm Bank and NC Ports Authority.
- Establish a professional relationship with the business community for the sectors supported throughout the state. Seek to develop relationships with key partners involved in economic development, academic institutions and industry focused non-profits;
- Ensure that NC companies are familiar with the services and assistance that can be provided by EDPNC including the Existing industry teams;
- Identify the industry sector’s economic development attributes and strategic advantages in order to assist with the development of that industry in the state;
- Public speaking engagements to various stakeholder groups;
