Position Summary
The Market Manager role will be responsible for but not limited to account management, distributor meetings, program execution, QBR’s, trade shows and on-going Edrington brand education in the local market for Macallan, Wyoming Whiskey, Highland Park, Noble Oak, Brugal, and Famous Grouse. In addition, this role as it pertains to a state position level experience will be responsible for creating the annual operating plan and budgeting with Area Manager and/or Regional Director.
Job Description
- Support product activations in key accounts and focus on Macallan “500 Best” accounts.
- Provide necessary education and training to On Premise: bartenders/wait staff/mgmt.
- Provide necessary education and training Off Premise: Store Sales Personnel and Mgmt.
- Act as a brand ambassador as well as a commercial lead focused on WW and Macallan.
- Work with distributors and field marketing as well as finance to collaboratively plan in market activity (volume, spending, KPIs for both on and off premise).
- Obtain senior management (Edrington/Distributor) alignment on goals and initiatives
- Develop and lead quarterly business reviews and market level planning (3X per year) with key broker/distributor and Edrington personnel
- Motivate and develop distributor sales team capabilities to ensure they remain on task and within brand/company strategy in order to achieve targets/objectives (volume, POS, merchandising, drink lists, brand promotions)
- Maintain and analyse market performance in order to ensure goals are achieved. Routinely analyse broker/distributor performance and track/respond to competitive activity in the market.
- Monitor all in-market spends, ensure investments are effective and efficient, helping to deliver market profit goals.
- Identify and implement On and Off Premise brand building activities in market. Will require working with broker/distributor personnel, 3rd party activation partners and implementing some activity directly.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
- CSW or similar credentials preferred
- Working knowledge of Scotch and Bourbons preferred
- Minimum five (5) years adult beverage sales experience
- Key account management
- Complete understanding of both On Premise or Off Premise channel environments
- Broker/Distributor partnership and influence
- Plan development and implementation
- Event forecasting and execution
