What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Service Liaison position at EDSI?
Scope of Position
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for accepting clothing donations, caring for customer needs and providing support to the Business Service Team. This person will provide exemplary customer service by asking the customer questions to determine their needs and engaging the customer with their knowledge, tracking clientele, completing monthly reporting tools and recommending additional items that will compliment the customers’ employment goals. He/she will provide support with onsite recruitment events, outreach to job seekers, and maintain the statewide system for job postings. He/she will also handle store merchandising, stocking and maintenance activities. The person will assist the store in achieving monthly service goals. He/she will perform related work as required. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
Essential Functions
- Greet customers and determine their wants and needs
- Discuss quality, type and number of merchandise required for a particular industry
- Recommend merchandise based on the individual’s employment goals
- Advise customers on care and utilization of merchandise
- Refer clients to partner agencies upon request
- Assist in tagging and displaying merchandise
- Assist customers in making selection from the diverse range of products available
- Build customer confidence by offering them suggestions and opinions
- Document donations by creating and updating customer profile records
- Provide monthly outreach to local agencies explaining store services and referral process
- Assist customers with any questions or concerns they have
- Share reporting information with appropriate staff and/or functional teams
- Review, approve job order and new business folders
- Provide onsite support with recruitment events for employers by calling in job seekers, scheduling interviews and doing data entry for the event results
- Conduct outreach calls to area job seekers letting them know about services
- Contribute in securing positive outcomes and attaining specific program goals
- Achieve weekly and quarterly outreach targets
- Track progress and prepare weekly project reports as required

- Customer service experience
- Exceptional phone etiquette skills
- Experience with data collection
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Consistent follow-through when corresponding with employers, program participants, job seekers and team members
