Classification CC 01- 03 $346.07 /week 1st yr.,$364.57/week 2nd yr., & $389.63/week 3rd yr. room & board.

Essential Function of the Job
Under the direction of the Camp Director and Program Assistant, counselors are responsible for conducting camp activities, clean facilities, and ensuring health and safety of campers. Counselors are expected to stay overnight during training and while camp is in session. Counselors will work closely with campers that have disabilities or that come from at-risk situations.
Examples of Work
(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed nor do the listed examples include all tasks which may be found in the position of this class.)
1. Be responsible for assigned campers during camp program and activities.
2. Maintain camp facilities while camp is in session.
3. Assist in the setup, tear down, and clean up of camp facilities.
4. Conduct camper program activities throughout the day.
5. Attend In-Service Training and staff meetings.
6. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements of Work
1. Ability to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.
2. Ability to relate in a positive manner with special needs children and adults.
3. Ability to plan and conduct recreation activities.
4. High School Diploma or equivalent.
5. Eighteen (18) years of age or older.
6. A satisfactory review of Criminal History Check and DHS Clearance.
7. Effective, January 31, 2022, all EightCAP staff must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Exemptions may be granted for individuals who request and receive an exemption from vaccination because of a:
· Medical condition, or medical necessity requires a delay in vaccination, as documented by a licensed medical practitioner (as a reasonable accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act)
· Sincerely held religious belief, practice, or observance (established under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964).
Those who are granted an exemption for one of the reasons listed above are required to undergo weekly testing for current SARS COV-2 infection.
Aside from those who are granted exemptions for one of the reasons above, there is no testing option as an alternative to the vaccine requirement.
8. A Valid MI Driver's License and satisfactory driving history.
Desirable Minimum Training and Experience
Some knowledge of the developmentally disabled population.
