The complex litigation department of our rapidly growing firm seeks a senior attorney to lead a set of IP, trade secret, and complex business litigation matters filed in multiple states in federal court, as well as matters pending in Texas state and federal court. Client relations experience is an asset, as is any familiarity with bankruptcy adversary proceedings. To be considered, you should have solid trial and law and motion experience, be willing to mentor our newer associates and be conversant in document review platforms. Compensation:$150,000 DOE
Responsibilities:- Get appropriate documents prepared, such as motions, pleadings, notices, and discovery requests and responses
- Stay updated on changing applicable laws and statutes on the local, state, and federal levels
- Represent clients in court to argue motions during legal proceedings
- Anticipate, prepare for, and attend trials, mediation, and arbitration on behalf of clients
- Conduct research and draft pleadings, briefs, and motions
- Engage regularly with clients to coordinate e-discovery and to understand their business
- Previous experience advocating for clients in trials, mediation, and arbitration
- 5 years of required experience as a senior associate in the legal field
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills are required, as well as persuasive writing and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to handle heavy caseload with little supervision
- Admitted to local and state bar associations
- Four-year bachelor’s degree and successful completion of law school from an accredited law school
