Description

SUMMARY:  Sells electrical and lighting products to business and industrial establishments or individuals over the telephone by performing the following duties.  This individual will be a highly motivated, self-starter able to identify and develop new business prospects from multiple sources, including inbound marketing leads and prospect lists.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Makes outbound lead/follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell products.
  • Handles inbound sales lead calls to convert calls into sales.
  • Emphasizes sellable features, quotes prices, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
  • Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of delivery schedules.
  • Builds and maintains customers’ relationships.
  • Works with outside sales representatives to keep account activities up to date.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
  • Assists co-workers in other departments as needed.
  • Initiate outbound prospecting, qualifying, and appointment setting.
  • Develop new business via telephone and email to introduce ESI services to prospective and existing customers.
  • Able to handle complex lead generation calls across different lines of business to many different job titles.
  • Identify appropriate buyers within the target market.
  • Provide feedback to help identify prospects’ pain points to help determine how the ESI solution will simplify administrative processes.
  • Build and cultivate prospect relationships.
  • Consistently meets and exceeds dials, talk time and marketing qualified leads created metrics.
  • Work as part of market driven team to develop and grow the sales pipeline.
  • Actively contributes in weekly meetings by providing ideas and suggestions to the team.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:   High School diploma or general education degree (GED). Minimum of five years of continuous verifiable, sales experience as a full-time electrical distributor inside salesperson, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, general personal computer application and the Internet.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform mathematical functions.
