Medical Policy Program Manager
Location: This role will work a hybrid model (remote and office). Must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute of an Elevance Health location.
The Medical Policy Program Manager is responsible for the overseeing development and ongoing management of corporate medical policy used by multiple areas across the enterprise, including utilization management nurses and medical directors, sale and contracting, legal, accreditation, regulatory, medical management, special investigations/program Integrity, disease management, actuary, and others.
How you will make an impact:
- Manages and coordinates the overall development, review, and implementation of Corporate Medical Policies primarily developed and maintained by Medical Policy Analysts and supported by Medical Directors and subject matter experts.
- Provides subject matter expertise in response to day-to-day medical policy issues.
- Ensures implementation of Corporate Medical Policies in conjunction with medical policy operations team.
- Coordinates with the medical policy operations team to identify and implement strategies to improve processes related to Corporate Medical Policies.
- Researches applicable subject matter practices and remains aware of industry trends, including pipeline medical policy technologies, and pertinent cost of care initiatives and opportunities.
- Manages external medical policy relationships and partners with corporate and regional business areas.
- May represent Office of Medical Policy and Technology Assessment on internal/external stakeholder calls.
- Coordinates training related to the Medical Policy Analyst team.
- Develops medical policy program success measures and performs periodic assessments of program success.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 5 years external client facing experience in program/project management; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:
- Graduate degree preferred and/or a clinical degree (e.g., RN) or masters-level degree in a domain relating to scientific evidence assessment is preferred.
- Project management certification preferred.
- Related experience including clinical experience, clinical research experience, or evidence assessment experience.
- Extensive experience with scientific and general writing, reading, and critically analyzing scientific literature strongly desired.
- Experience with medical policy a plus.
For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $86,960 to $164,354.
