The Electrician will provide a variety of field services to customers currently in process and Elevated Customers. Including but not limited to; installation of electrical components associated with solar photovoltaic systems, energy storage systems, specialty electrical work, and general trouble shooting. This position is 70% in the field and 30% driving between appointments.

Essential Functions:

• Installation of electrical equipment for solar photovoltaic systems, energy storage systems (batteries), main service panel upgrades, electrical derates, and subpanels for residential applications.
• Trouble shoot potential electrical issues.
• Activate photovoltaic (PV) systems to verify system functionality and conformity to performance expectations.
• Identify electrical, environmental, and safety hazards associated with photovoltaic (PV) installations.
• Document completion of the completed installation.
• Clean up of job site.
• Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety.
• Additional duties required as needed.

Specifications:

• Work both inside and outside in all temperatures and climate conditions in accordance with Heat Stress procedures.
• Work around energized electrical equipment.
• Must be prepared to work irregular shifts and respond to emergency callouts.
• Ability to work in mentally stressful environments: must be able to react to crises where immediate action is required to correct or curtail potentially damaging or hazardous situations.
• Daily work expectation requires the ability to perform tasks by walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, crouching, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, shoveling, climbing, and working with hand tools (up to 25 pounds) in positions above and below the head, and extended from the body to complete repairs.
• Lift, carry, position, and use tools and/or equipment (weighing up to 50 lbs.) in awkward positions.
• Ability to discern assorted colors.
• Ability to twist the body and neck while driving company vehicles.
• Work with and around hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Have the ability to discern and respond to verbal and auditory signals.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Five years of residential experience in the repair, inspection, testing, installation and/or maintenance of related electrical equipment.
• Solar PV and energy storage systems experience a plus.
• Main service panel upgrade experience a plus
• Knowledge of electricity, voltage and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits. 
• Ability to produce high quality work with a minimum of supervision or direction.
• Ability to follow, interpret and act on written and verbal job instructions, and reports, technical manuals, and data.
• Ability to operate Company vehicles and site equipment and maintain operating licenses and certifications. 
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to maintain solar site in a safe manner.
• Ability to use hand and power tools. 
• Ability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on solar site equipment and wiring under the supervision of the Lead Solar Electrician.
• Ability to operate test equipment such as voltmeters, meggers, ampmeters, high potential test equipment under the supervision of the Lead Solar Electrician.
• Ability to communicate status of jobs, or work issues to Lead Solar Electrician. 
• Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
• Ability to use a personal computer and associated software.
• Regular, reliable and predictable attendance required. 
• Must have a valid state driver’s license. 
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen. 
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel) 

• 5 days per week (Some Weekend may be work required)
• Hours Varies depending on nature and needs of business
• Additional hours are based on the manager's requirement
