We provide both in-person and online programs for our district and school partners throughout California. Our program is specifically aimed at helping school principals address issues such as behavioral challenges, low attendance, high suspension rates and to help cultivate a positive and engaging school climate. Elevo serves over 100 districts and 500k students in California and we are looking to expand nationally.

THE ROLE
The HR Generalist is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support to our business, while ensuring smooth operations of the HR department. This role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.
The responsibilities of the position are (but are not limited to):
- Ensure compliance with all legal updates or regulatory changes pertaining to labor, wage and hour, and employment laws.
- Work with managers and employees to resolve diverse and complex employee relations issues, while ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and practices.
- Works closely with Talent Acquisition in helping managers navigate the hiring process to ensure a smooth on-boarding process.
- Support the Elevo internal team with ad hoc people projects as well as formal cycles related to promotions, bonus plans, and salary increases, including employee compensation equity and positions in need of re-evaluation.
- Management of all HR related administrative activities as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years of progressive experience in a human resources position
- Working knowledge of federal employment law and local/ state regulations, specifically in California
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Start up/fast paced culture experience strongly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and communicate verbally and in writing effectively with leaders and employees at all levels of the company.
- Ability to Work from Home: This is a combination of remote work and based in the San Diego office a few days per week.
