Turf and Ornamentals Manager

The Turf and Ornamentals Manager will be responsible for running the Turf and Ornamentals department and for achieving departmental goals (sales, profit, employee development, safety, customer retention and business development)
This individual will provide daily leadership and supervision to the technicians to insure a safe, productive, and profitable environment. At times, the individual will also be performing service visits. By working closely with the other managers in the areas of training, documentation, employee development, and company policy enforcement, the Turf and Ornamentals Department Manager will help achieve and maintain company-wide safety, productivity, and quality for the services provided to customers.
Requirements (actual demonstration of skills or documents may be required)
- Previous experience with effective pesticide application techniques is required
- Knowledge of lawn, tree, shrub, and other landscape products
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Virginia Commercial Pesticide Applicator license within 30 days of employment
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently or on a team
- Must enjoy working outside in all-weather elements
- Must be able to learn and use the company CRM program in order to send estimates, schedule job and monitor customer relationships
- Can be counted on to be at work on time every day
- Can legally work in the US and has a driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Habla Español a strong advantage
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly during the day

In this position, you will:
- Sell our services by meeting with clients and sending proposals and assist with the Annual Agreements,
- Schedule applications, make applications as needed, monitor and calculate labor and material costs to achieve company goals
- Implement the use of an environmentally sound pest management program that includes Integrated Pest Management.
- Be comfortable operating Lesco spray tanks, Z Sprays, Stingers (or similar) equipment for fertilizer/chemical applications and aeration/overseeding
- Mix and safely apply products according to product label specifications
- Calibrate equipment to gauge actual product used with a spreader or sprayer
- Maintain records of all fertility and pesticide applications
- Develop and maintaining long-term client relationships by insuring the technicians familiar with each client’s hot buttons and goals
- Address customer concerns proactively and as they arise
- Assist in developing and implementing written annual business plan
- Assist with the training of co-workers
- Maintain awareness of new industry products, equipment and techniques so we can improve
- May perform other general landscape maintenance duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, edging, mulching, materials pickup, etc. to ensure the continued success of our company.

Pay: $69,046.00 - $77,851.00 per year

- Turf and/or Ornamental care: 2 years (Preferred)
Language:
- Both Spanish and English (Preferred)
License/Certification:

- Virginia (VDACS) Registered Technician Certification (Preferred)
