We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Instrumentation and Electrical Technician (I & E) to join our maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems within our forging facility. This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and instrumentation, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, PID Loops, SCADA networks, and other control systems components
- Create new control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
- Program, teach, and troubleshoot robots and vision systems
- Maintain SCADA machine network along with proper component addressing
- Perform network backups of all PLC, HMI, and Robot systems
- Upgrade software and hardware of all control systems as required
- Maintain critical spares of electronic components used within the factory to minimize machine downtime
- Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and calibration of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with electrical and instrumentation systems, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Collaborate with the maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and calibrations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide input for process optimization.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED; technical degree or certification in electrical or instrumentation technology preferred.
- Minimum of [5] years of experience in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or forging environment.
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, HMI, Robots, and other industrial control systems.
- Understands both ladder logic and functional block programming
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
