What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmers Market Sales Associate position at Eltee's Goods?
** note this job starts ASAP for training. As of right now it is SUPER part time. Just once a month from January - March and 2 weekends in April. There is a potential for weekly work (Saturday and Sunday) once May comes around.
Hello prospective team members. My name is Lindsey, and I am currently a one woman show looking to grow my farmers market team for my small food business, Eltee's Goods (think LT's Goods). At Eltee's Goods, I am striving to create community through food, utilizing locally grown- and milled ingredients, connecting with other local small businesses- using their products as much as possible, and meeting and educating my customer base. Creating community as I go.
I currently have a line of unique and tasty savory tomato jams, as well as a line of baked goods that uses locally grown and milled grains. Sourcing locally and seasonally is paramount to our mission as a business
Who you are:
You are a fan of food. You care about the food ecosystem you exist within, and are excited by the idea of creating community through food.
You have weekend availability-One Saturday per month until March, twice in April, and potential for more consistent weekly Sat/Sun markets come May. Days generally start early- between 7 and 8, and end by or around 2. The allotted 8 hour day includes driving time and load in/out.
You live in Westchester County and have a car to get you to and from markets- as well as meet up spots/storage space to pick up materials. Materials include a 10ft tent (collapsed) so your car must have the space for this.
You are outgoing, and excited to engage with customers, share our mission and our yumminess. You are not afraid to sell sell sell. You are not afraid to be bold, and show your excitement for our products.
You have some sales or food experience. This is not required but preferred.
You must be able to lift at least 25lbs. This is a physical job. You are on your feet for up to 7 hours a day and are responsible for setting up and taking down the display on your own despite the weather. (I will train you for this and make sure you are fully comfortable before you begin).
You have a positive attitude and a genuine excitement about our mission. I cannot wait to grow my team, and have community within my own company.
