Civil/Structural Design Engineer Details
- Direct Hire position
- $ 90,000.00 / annually
- Salaried ( Monday through Friday from 08:00am to 05:00pm )
Main responsibilities: Create structural details and plans, conducting structural analysis for bridge substructures and superstructures, preparing structural specifications, and assisting with geometric layout and quantity estimation. Review and assess plans, design calculations, estimates, and specifications prepared by other professional engineers and EITs.
- Conduct bridge load ratings and generate load rating reports
- Perform structural analysis, design calculations, and create construction plans and details.
- Provide construction phase engineering services, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to contractor inquiries
- Design new railroad bridges and other railroad structures (culverts, retaining walls, shoring, foundations, passenger platforms, overhead pedestrian bridges, unloading pits, engine shops, etc.)
- Undertake design work for bridge rehabilitation projects
- Perform bridge load ratings
Civil/Structural Design Engineer Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with a focus on Structural design
- Over 5 years of experience in bridge design, with a preference for Railroad experience
- Skilled in concrete and steel design
- Professional Engineering licensure (PE) preferred; minimum Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required
- Familiarity with FRA regulations, AASHTO LRFD, and AREMA design codes
- Applicant may be subject to a background check
- Applicant may be subject to a Motor Vehicle Report
