What are the responsibilities and job description for the Household Coordinator PRN position at Elwyn?
Primary Function: Responsible for daily housekeeping, cooking, food shopping, menu planning, maintenance of fire and safety documentation, building and vehicle maintenance and safety, and ordering supplies for community based homes. Responsible for providing supervision and programmatic decision making. To act as an advocate and represent clients' needs and rights with outside social service agencies, families, etc. Responsible to assist Program Specialists with supporting mental health consumers in all activities of daily living. Responsible for administering medications as prescribed by physician. Responsible for following all doctor's orders regarding wound care, speech, Physical therapy, Occupational therapy or any other prescribed directive. Responsible for adherence to standards, procedures and schedules established by the Program supervisor and or Director of Adult Residential Mental Health Services.
Immediate Supervisor: Program Supervisor.
Contacts: Elwyn personnel, Elwyn clientele, Funding and regulatory agency personnel, families, outside health care providers, BSU personnel, social security personnel, DPW personnel and other outside mental health providers.
Education: Associate's degree preferred, High School Diploma required. DPW approved Medication Administration Training (provided by Elwyn).
Experience: One year in the mental health field preferred. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record, and continued maintenance of same.
Physical demands: Neat appearance. No lifting restrictions.
Environmental working conditions: Ability to work in a variety of environments and settings. Flexible hours. May be assigned or reassigned to any program location as the need arises, and as directed by the immediate or on-call supervisor.
Hazards: Occasional exposure to minor hazards.
