What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mail Clerk position at Emcor?
The Mail Clerk is responsible for the performance of services and assistance supporting facility and customer operations. The Mail Clerk is responsible for the successful and timely completion of support services in Mail Room Operations such as mail sorting, preparation, and distribution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mailroom clerk will collect mail when it comes to the front desk and bring it to the mailroom to sort into departmental mailboxes.
- Points of contact from each department are responsible for picking up and delivering their department mail/packages. If large packages are delivered, the mailroom clerk will deliver them or hold them at the mailroom, upon request.
- FedEx, UPS, etc. are delivered through the front door. Facilities can assist in delivering all large items
- The mailroom clerk will also assist with conference set-up.
- The mailroom clerk will continue to run the postage meter
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 0 to 2 years; or equivalent education and training.
- Valid State Driver's License required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Will have or acquire working knowledge of computers and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and CMMS. Must be proficient in computer skills.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to problem solving with the ability to compile specifications, tasking and produce in written, oral, and diagram form. Ability to successfully multi-task and deal with multiple problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Coordinate multiple equipment commodities and building systems
- Ability to maintain customer service orientation and maintain customer relationships when resolving issues and conducting duties.
- Communication and people skills are required, including the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Candidates will possess or be able to obtain a basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Power Point.
