Your Role:
The primary responsibility of the Chemist is to create high value-added formulated products for microelectronics advanced device manufacturing either by assisting the research of Sr. Technologists and/or through independent projects. Additionally, the Chemist will provide technical leadership in the formulation lab on new chemistries and assist in developing experiments that probe the mechanistic understanding of slurry components in the formulation stability as well as function. The Chemist is also expected to be a resource and champion of safe practices and new chemical introduction and handling. The role will require close collaboration with the Sr. Technologists as well research scientists, technicians, and pilot plant engineers. This position is to be performed on-site, and work will be done in a lab environment including coordination with lab technicians, and will ensure smooth execution of lab experiments.

- Develop new CMP formulations for a variety of applications, including preparing and testing new formulations of slurry for stability and function, performing new chemical screening, and/or identifying new screening libraries of compounds
- Develop technical knowledge into the mechanistic understanding of the chemical components of the slurries by developing and coordinating test procedures on particle stability, surface interaction, and electrochemistry
- Assist the Sr. Technologist with setting up new metrology or other wet lab equipment setup and tools as required to support new products to ensure a strong technical understanding of key performance and quality factors for all new products
- Develop strong collaborations and partnerships with Sr. Technologists, engineers, and technicians for the execution of projects in R&D and new product transfers to pilot plant scale-up
- Adhere to best safety practices and be a champion of safety, such as conducting immediate safety assessments on-site, vetting chemicals in new formulations for adverse effects and hazards, monitoring and coordinating safe disposal of expired materials
- Participate in meetings (mainly internal technical meetings) either as project owner or in support of projects owned by Sr. Technologists and research scientists
- Participate in intellectual property development with the Sr. Technologists
- Provide technical and safety training and leadership to formulation lab technicians
Who You Are:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master of Science degree in Chemistry, Physics or Material Science

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Physics or Material Science
- 2 years of research & development experience in Chemistry, Physics, or Material Science
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years of post-graduate career experience in a science or technology role
- Experience in the formulation of CMP slurries
- Technical depth in formulations, surfactants, polymers, colloidal chemistry, electrochemistry, and defect metrology
- Comprehensive understanding of the interaction of chemistries with surfaces
- Experience in the design of experiments and statistical analysis
- Outstanding problem solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communications ability and teamwork skills
