If you are an Associate Application Engineer looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Located in our Pittsburgh, PA office, the successful candidate will be a crucial part of the Generator Excitation Solutions group with responsibilities for design/implementation functions, and project execution for digital generator controls. This role will be supporting Emerson's Power and Water Solutions business.
The group focuses on upgrading existing power plant control systems with industry leading automation controls and instrumentation to promote sustainability and longevity of our North American power grid. In this role, you will be using our virtualization, simulation and remote support technologies along with Emerson propriety software to provide customized and cost effective solutions to our customers. We will offer you hands-on work experience and on the job training supported by senior engineers and mentorship.
AS AN GES ASSOCIATE APPLICATION ENGINEER, YOU WILL:

- Work on a combination of design and hands-on testing of the equipment you develop
- Travel to customer sites to perform walk downs, maintenance, commissioning or other duties as needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
- The successful candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Willing and able to ravel up to 20%, domestically
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- 0-2 years’ experience in knowledge of generator excitation systems is a plus
- Experience designing electrical systems is a plus
- On the job training will happen; we are looking for you to have strong, hands-on experience from an internship, cooperative education experience (CO-OP), or a project-based academic assignment lasting at least six months. Building on a validated blend of education and experience is a shown success plan.
Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option
This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.
