What are the responsibilities and job description for the Simulation Manager position at Emerson?
As the SIMULATION MANAGER, you will:
- Manage organizational simulation technology work requests and prioritization.
- Prioritize and develop plans for technology and infrastructure development proposals.
- Administration of simulation software including license renewals, deployment, training, and technical support.
- Manage and administer relevant engineering practices and standards.
- Lead collaboration between simulation functions across global sites.
- Provide a focused direction with a balanced approach to throughput and capability development that support business initiatives.
- Formulate and execute strategies that support the development of tools and processes that increase the productivity and reliability of product design.
- Develop, maintain, and improve performance metrics.
- Ensure consistent development of Test & Simulation Plans for all major NPD projects including quoting and approved product evaluation budgets.
- Manage the external customer quoting and order process for the Simulation group.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 5 years of engineering experience
- Demonstrated experience with product design, test, and/or simulation technology
- Proven technical leadership capability
- Ability to work complex projects with many collaborators
Preferred Experience & Skills:
- Master’s Degree in Engineering
- Experience leading teams (especially international teams)
- Proven ability to build a network
- Experience with Lean or Agile project management
- Software Proficiency: MS O365, Planview LeanKit, SolidWorks, & ANSYS
