JOB DESCRIPTION: The Employee Health RN II strives to promote safety and protection of patients and employees through effective assessment and surveillance of Emory Healthcare (EHC) employees. The RN supports the Employee Health Services by conducting employee health screenings for new and annual employees, volunteers and contractors performing work for EHC, promotes a safe work environment while adhering to applicable EHC policies and procedures, and supporting the EHC's Vision Alignment Matrix. Following established charting procedures, documents all aspects of patient care to show progress or changes in an employee's condition. Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development. Attends educational in-services as appropriate. Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments. Conducts occupational health screenings for new and annual employees, immunizations, tracking, monitoring follow-up of occupational exposures and providing employee education and wellness information. Demonstrates awareness of and adherence to legal requirements and other pertinent standards related to Occupational Health. The Employee Health Nurse shall maintain the privacy of the employee and confidentiality of the medical record. Responsible for immunizations as per EHC Employee Health Services standing orders and recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Assists with planning, implementation, evaluation of annual influenza vaccine program. Will maintain statistics of Employee Health duties as indicated by tasks performed for employees. May require travel to work at other sites when needed. Perform New Hire Health Assessments. Performs Annual Health Assessments. Administers Vaccines per standing orders for EHC Employee Health. Will administer vaccines per EHC Employee Health vaccines policy and procedure requirements while following CDC Guidelines for administration of vaccines to healthcare workers. Support Emory Healthcare Wellness Initiatives. The job poses the potential of occupational exposure in routine tasks performed. Maintain Infection Control Standards for blood and body fluid exposure while performing job responsibilities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: All nurses employed in roles requiring an unencumbered nursing license must have a valid, active license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board and current Basic Life Support Certification. COHN certification preferred. Current clinical knowledge of state and federal regulations on health issues, occupational hazards and safety issues. BLS certifications required.
