Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Maintains the safe operation and maintenance of building facilities and has a proven competency in one of the following areas; electrical/wiring, mechanical/HVAC systems, plumbing/pipefitting or Plant Operations/Stationary Engineer.
- Repairs and adjusts doors, windows, closures, panic devices and locks.
- Patches holes, installs escutcheons, repairs ceiling and floor tile as needed to maintain building appearance.
- Makes minor masonry and wood repairs.
- Installs pictures, coat hooks, other wall hung furnishings, and equipment as requested.
- Performs preventive maintenance activities, responds to customer complaints, and repairs equipment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in building maintenance.
- Working knowledge in their area of competency of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, Plant operations, structural, or general carpentry.
- May require a valid Georgia driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Medium-Heavy) 36-75 lbs, 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 20-35 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; (frequently); 10-20 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 75 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 35 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking; Occasional sitting; Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
