The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and the Emory University Department of Pediatrics is seeking to hire a midlevel to senior physician to serve as a member of our Leukemia and Lymphoma Services team.

Applicants should be board-certified in pediatric hematology/oncology with national recognition in childhood cancer as a clinical researcher with strong translational expertise. All qualified applicants would be expected to be hired at the associate or full professor rank. A strong record of peer reviewed publications is expected. Experience in administrative and leadership roles is optimal. Clinical effort and research commitment are flexible depending on the candidates’ interests, training and funding.

Research
• Continue record of research excellence and publications under the institutional mentoring of the Director of Pediatric Oncology, Dr. Daniel Wechsler (and others)
• Devote significant effort to continuing local and national/international clinical research efforts, mainly in Pediatric Leukemia with the goal of developing/launching new trials, publishing in peer-reviewed journals as well as forming the basis for grant applications
• Obtain Membership in the Winship Cancer Institute and participate in a Winship scientific program depending on the area of scientific interest.

Clinical Care (relevant to MD or MD/PhD candidates)

• Clinical FTE will be applicable commensurate with level of training and with level of funding.
• Serve as staff physician on Leukemia and Lymphoma inpatient, ambulatory or procedure services at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
• Develop translational areas of clinical therapeutics in collaboration with the Developmental Therapeutics Program

Education

• Provide research and career mentorship for fellows, postdoctoral fellows, or graduate students interested in leukemia and lymphoma clinical and translational research
• Participate in teaching of clinical and translational science in areas of expertise relevant to mission of Aflac and Winship where applicable;
• Clinical education and supervision of students, residents and fellows if taking any role on clinical service.
